Winners from the 2011 Recycle-Bowl competition can be found here.

For the three different competition categories, prizes include:

  1. School Division (Statewide Competitions and National Title)
Schools have the opportunity to win this division if they recycle the most material per person per school within their state (including the District of Columbia). The statewide winners will then be eligible to win an additional prize if they capture the national title.
  2. Community Division (National competition only)
If a school collects material from the community, parents, local businesses as well as from internal school operations, they will compete in the Community Recycling Division. The schools will track the amount of material recycled per person and will compete with other schools on a national level. One national champion will be named for this Division.
  3. District Division (National competition only)
Whole school districts that are unable to break out recycling data for each individual school can compete nationally against other school districts. This category will include one national first-place champion. Each district will track the weight of its recyclables and divide it by the total number of students, teachers and administrators.

Other prizes:

  • The national winner of the Recycle-Bowl School Division will be eligible to receive a recycled-content park bench.
  • The school that improves the most over the previous year will receive a store credit to purchase recycling bins from Busch Systems.
  • All winning schools may also receive a recycled content plaque.

At the completion of the competition, all Competition Division schools are encouraged to publicize the winners with a congratulatory advertisement in their school newspaper and/or other campus media (e.g., radio, campus television station, campus-wide email message).
